Paprika, whose scientific name is ‘Capsicum Annum’, is from the nightshade (Solanaceae) family. It is obtained by drying and pounding hot and sweet fresh peppers. It is mostly grown in Gaziantep in Turkey. It is used in most of the hot local dishes. It strengthens the stomach, increases appetite and facilitates digestion. It is very diuretic. It prevents vomiting, prevents gas accumulation in the stomach and intestines. Red pepper has many benefits, especially for flu and colds.
